How to Prepare the Artwork for Your Printed Plastic Cards 30mil

To ensure that your order is fulfilled smoothly, please follow these guidelines:

  • Bleed & Trim
    1/8" on all sides of the document will be trimmed off, this is called the bleed. So the size of the file that you submit needs to be 1/4" higher and wider than the finished (cut) size. Make sure that all background images and colors extend into this area to avoid having a white frame around your design.
  • Safe Zone
    Additionally, please adjust your text and important graphics to be 1/8" inside of the finished size on all four sides.
  • Colors
    The file needs to be in CYMK color not RGB
  • Resolution
    The resolution of your file needs to be 300dpi
  • Submitting Files
    We prefer a pdf file (1 file for each side), if this is not possible please send a psd, ai or eps file. Make sure all fonts are converted to outline. If you have chosen barcoding, numbering or variable data, please include a dummy file indicating where these elements should be placed on your card. After making your order you will be prompted to upload your print-ready files.
  • * Additional Files
    If you have chosen a foil option, please submit a seperate file for each side indicating where the foil areas should be. These files should be the same specifications as the artwork files (300dpi, with a bleed). The files should be white, with 100% Black areas specifying where the foil areas should be. Please note that that there can not be degraded areas in these files, all areas are either 100% white or 100% black. These files should be in vector format.
  • * Additional Info
    If you have chosen barcoding or numbering, please upload an excel file with the numbers that you need to be printed. Otherwise if you need sequential numbers, let us know in the order notes section the starting number that you require. If you have chosen the magnetic strip option, let us know in the order notes section whether you'd like us to record information on the strip or not.
  • Blacks
    Rich black ( 40% Cyan, 40% Magenta, 30% Yellow, 100% Black ) should be used for large areas of black and will give a deep solid black finish.
    100% black ( 0% Cyan, 0% Magenta, 0% Yellow, 100% Black ) should be used for small black text (12pt and smaller) and lines, this will result in crisp text and edges.
